Introduction to Scheme
Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham is a purely religious and charitable society mainly engaged in the propagation of Sanatana Dharma and Ayyappa Dharma.
As a part of its mission, the Sangham strongly believes that the growing-up stage of children is the right target group for this scheme.
Objective of the Scheme
To develop God-devotion among growing children by encouraging them to:
- Observe daily lighting of the traditional Sandhya Vilakku.
- Perform Sandhya Namam prayers at home.
- Follow the principles and values of Sanatana Dharma.
Through these practices, children will grow with a spirit of devotion, discipline, and strong adherence to Sanatana Dharma.
Target Beneficiaries
- Children between the age group of 5 years and 18 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Children between the age group of 5 years and 18 years who:
Regularly observe Sandhya Namam and prayers at home after lighting the traditional Sandhya Vilakku.
Practice and follow the teachings of Sanatana Dharma.
Read and understand various Hindu religious texts including:- Grandhams
- Puranas
- Bhagavatam
- Ramayanam
- Participate in religious discourses, storytelling sessions, and activities based on the Puranas.
Documents Required
- Prescribed application signed by the parent(s) on behalf of the child.
- Recommendation from the Chief Priest of the Malayalee Temple nearest to the applicant’s place of residence in Bhopal.
- Test result of the online/offline examination conducted by ABASS.
Awards
The Sangham shall organize an award ceremony on a suitable date convenient for all concerned.
The awards shall be distributed by the Chief Priest of the Malayalee Community Temple of Bhopal or by his authorized representative in his absence.
Award recipients shall receive:
- A memento of Swamy Ayyappan
- A copy of a Hindu Holy Book
The awards will be presented to children recommended by the examining authority based on their performance.
Monitoring & Management
For monitoring and management of the scheme, the ABASS Executive Committee shall constitute a Sub-Committee called the Welfare Schemes Monitoring Committee (WSMC) consisting of five members under the Convenorship of the Secretary.
The four members other than the Convenor shall be nominated by the Executive Committee.
A member who is not part of the Executive Committee may also be nominated.
The tenure of the Sub-Committee shall run parallel to the tenure of the Executive Committee.
Budget
Once the scheme is implemented, it shall remain open for award distribution.
The Executive Committee of ABASS Bhopal shall decide whether to continue or discontinue the scheme based on the availability of budget and funding.
Bank Account
The Sangham shall open and operate a separate bank account for the scheme.
