SCHEME OF SENIOR CITIZEN MONTHLY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (ABASS-SCMFA)

Introduction to Scheme

The Scheme is aimed at ABASS, Bhopal, members, residing at Bhopal, who fulfill following eligibility criteria to avail of the scheme.

Objective of the scheme

To provide financial assistance to senior citizen who are members of the ABASS, Bhopal, and fulfill conditions mentioned at ‘target beneficiaries’ as below.

Target beneficiaries & extend of financial help

  • Senior citizen, as defined in the eligibility criteria, having disability or serious illness and on regular medicine support, and their children are not supportive in nursing them, are the target beneficiaries. Under the scheme a financial assistance of Rs.1000/- per month is remitted to the identified beneficiary through their bank account.   

Eligibility criteria

  1. Male members attained the age of 60 years and female members attained the age of 58 years are considered as senior citizen under the scheme.
  2. Beneficiaries must be members of ABASS, Bhopal.
  3. Applicant(s) having employed son(s) or unmarried daughter(s) with employment are not eligible. However, if their employed children reluctant to look-after, their aged parents, such parents are eligible to apply under the scheme.
  4. Applicant(s) retired from government services and drawing pension more than 1500/- or more as per Govt. directives, are not eligible under scheme.
  5. Applicants shifted to Old age home are eligible under the scheme
  6. Applicants suffered disability or is on medicine support due to serious illness, and not covered under any medical scheme/hospital or Company, children who are not supportive in nursing them, are eligible to avail the scheme.

Monitoring & Management:

For the monitoring and management of the Scheme, ABASS Executive Committee will constitute a Sub-Committee called “Welfare Schemes Monitoring Committee (WSMC)” consisting of five members under the Convenorship of the Secretary. The four members other than Convenor shall be nominated by the Executive Committee, where a member who is not in the Executive Committee may also be nominated. The tenure of the Sub-Committee shall run parallel to the tenure of Executive Committee

Documents required.

  1. Application on Sangham’s prescribed form.
  2. Bank pass book copy
  3. Adhaar Card copy
  4. Recommendation of Chief Priest of Malayalee temple near to the area where the applicant resides at Bhopal.
  5. Visit report of the team of Sangham committee to the applicant in response of the application and their recommendation.

Budget:

Once the scheme is implemented, the same will be open for beneficiaries and the Executive Committee of ABASS Bhopal will decide whether to continue or discontinue the scheme based on availability of budget and funding.

Bank account:

The Sangham will open and operate a separate bank account for the scheme.

Proposed Funding pattern:

Funding for running the scheme shall be through donations from members, well-wishes, sponsorships, ABASS branch contribution,  etc.
