Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham was established in the year 1945 under Charitable Societies Act, at Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala State, initially for providing assistance and shelter to the Ayyappa devotees during their pilgrimage to world renowned Ayyappa Temple, Sabarimala, at the time even Travancore Devaswom Board was not existed. Over the years, the Sangham has established more than 5600 branches all over the world, managing about 800 temples, charitable medical facilities, schools, libraries, old-age homes with life membership base of more than 10,000 devotees. At present, the Sangham is one of the largest Religious & Charitable Societies in India, having global presence of activities.
Many of the devotees of Lord Ayyappa in the city of Bhopal have thought of forming an Organization, as a common platform, where all the Ayyappa Devotees can work together to propagate Ayyappa Dharma and Sanadhana Dharma. Since temples are our cultural heritage, it should be preserved by all means. Selfless service to the society and help to the needy through charitable schemes are felt as need of the hour. At this backdrop, 32 devotees were assembled on 09.06.2019 at Pratima Upvan and held a general meeting under the Chairmanship of CA. M N G Pillai and Shri T.G. Anil Kumar Nair made a presentation about the history and Charitable Services provided by the national level Organization ‘Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham’. The esteemed members present at the meeting, unanimously approved the proposal to open a branch of Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham at Bhopal. Thus, the Branch of Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangham came into being at Bhopal.
